Welcome to Healthy living. I strive every day to be healthier. I been inspired by what I have learned as a nurse, and as a public health professional about what health is. I believe that to be healthy we have to look at the whole person, and address underlying issues that can cause illness. I believe that nutrition and taking care our mental health is very important when it comes to health. On this page you will find tips, ideas, recipes to be healthier as well as resources I find helpful.

Tomato and Avocado salad

Tomato and Avocado Salad

Ingredients: Tomatoes, Avocado, Red bell peppers, Black pepper, Lime juice, salt to taste.

Depending on preference you can use  cherry tomatoes or any other kind of tomatoes. Same with the pepper, you can use the any type of pepper you like. Measurements I would suggest 1/2 avocado, 1/2 bell pepper, 1/2 cup of tomatoes, 1tbsp of lime juice, salt and pepper to taste. Toss all ingredients together. Enjoy.

Eggs for breakfast

Eggs for breakfast ingredients

Two eggs whipped, handful of spinach, 1/4 cup onion cut up, one clove garlic cut up. Saute onion and garlic on a small amount olive oil, add spinach saute just for a second add 2 eggs. Use a small frying pan, in about 2 minutes flip the egg to brown other side. Add fresh fruits and vegetables to your plate as desired. I like my eggs with paprika and a little salt. Enjoy.

Freshly made juices

Apple Juice: 5 cups pilled and cut up apples, one half lime, one inch ginger.

Apple and Pinnacle juice: 1/2 pineapple,  3 cups apples, 1/2 lime, one inch ginger.

Green juice:  3 cups of mixed greens, 2 cups baby turnips, 1 cup green cabbage, 1 cup purple cabbage, 1 cup parsley, 2 cups zucchini, 1 cup celery.

Carrot juice: 5 big carrots, one inch ginger.

Simple cabbage dish

Cabbage Dish:

1 cup green cabbage, 1 cup cut up onion, 1 cup soy curls, olive oil, salt to taste.

Saute onion on low heat for about 3-5 minutes until start to brown a little, add cabbage and soy curls. Cook for about 10 -15 minutes. Stir occasionally. Enjoy.
